My current fruit juicer, after 6 years of using has finally broken down and since it would cost me more than $50 bucks to get it fixed, I thought I might as well get a brand new one. I was looking through the various brands of juicer in the kitchenware section of a department store when I saw this Breville JE95XL Two-Speed Juice Fountain Plus and though it looks pretty good for the low price of $150.

It’s looks pretty attractive with a dimension of 18.2 x 13.2 x 10.2 inches and weighing almost 15 pounds. It’s beautifully designed in Chrome color and has a transparent smoked pitcher. That’s a picture of it above.

As usual, I like to carry out some research on any product that I like before I purchase it. So, here’s what I have found:

1. A powerful 850-watt motor with 2 speeds.

The Breville JE95XL Juice Fountain Plus is a dual speed juice extractor and it allows you to juice hard fruits and vegetables such as apples and beets on high speed by spinning the filter at 12,000 RPM while the low speed of 6500 RMP is optimal for softer fruits and leafy green vegetables such as cantaloupe and spinach.  There is also a built-in electronic smart chip that allows the juicer to easily adjust its power according to the load. Well, this feature is really a time saver and I love it!  Unlike other fruit juicers, the Breville JE95XL two-speed juice fountain comes with an extra large 3” wide (7.6cm) feed-chute. This means that you wouldn’t need to cut up your fruits into small pieces anymore. You can actually fits in whole apples, carrots, tomatoes and peeled oranges without chopping, slicing or peeling.

Oh yes, another additional benefits in juicing whole fruits (instead of cut fruits) are that the nutritive value is actually much higher.

If you are one that needs a quick juice but hates or simply have no time to do the preparation (cutting, peeling and chopping), then this juicer is really what you would be looking for.

3. Large Juice Jug and a large capacity slide-out pulp container.

This is another time saver feature of the Breville JE95XL juicer. The 1-litre juice jug that comes with an integrated handle for left or right-handed use with a cover and the 21/2 liter pulp container enable continuous juicing without interruption by frequent emptying. The cover prevents splashing of juices onto the counter. You can even line the pulp container with a plastic bag, which can be removed and discarded minimizing washing of the container. The jug comes with a froth separator to give you the choice of pouring the juice with or without the froth.

4. Stainless steel micro-mesh filter basket

The juicing basket has a different type of mesh filter than you see on most other juicers (it’s like what you might find on a high-end coffee filter), it can be totally disassembled with three screws, and sports some wicked metal prongs used to rasp the food you put into the juicer.

5. A Safety locking arm

This sturdy inclusion within the Breville JE95XL juicer provides great peace of mind for its user. You don’t need any tools and it takes less than 10 minutes for a total clean, dry, and re assembly. Most parts are dishwasher safe. Even comes with a cleaning brush for the cutter/filter.

Well with all the good things being said about the Breville JE95XL Juice Fountain Plus, there is one tiny, trivial problem. This juicer is pretty big and if you have a small kitchen, you may have problem finding space for it. Other than that, it’s really a good buy for the low price.
